Astronomers have incredibly discovered an as-yet-unfound NINTH PLANET<\/strong> <\/a><\/em>in our solar system. It’s been dubbed ‘Planet X<\/em><\/strong>‘, it’s about the size of Neptune and it’s hidden behind Pluto. It’s thought to orbit the sun once every 15,000 years. There’s no concrete proof of Planet X yet as no pictures have been taken, but scientists are confident in their discovery.<\/p>\n

Konstantin Batygin<\/strong> and Mike Brown<\/strong> of the California Institute of Technology (Caltech)<\/strong> in Pasadena, California, are behind the research. And Brown says this of what they’ve found:\u00a0\u201cIf you say, \u2018We have evidence for Planet X,\u2019 almost any astronomer will say, \u2018This again? These guys are clearly crazy<\/a>.\u2019 I would, too.\u00a0Why is this different? This is different because this time we\u2019re right.\u201d<\/em> The guys have calculated that there’s only about a 0.007% chance that they’re wrong. Nothing like being confident, huh?!<\/p>\n

\u201cI could not imagine a bigger deal if\u2014and of course that\u2019s a boldface \u2018if\u2019\u2014if it turns out to be right. What\u2019s thrilling about it is that the planet is detectable,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>says Gregory Laughlin who is a planetary scientist at the \u00a0neighboring University of California (UC) in Santa Cruz.<\/p>\n
