The Tomb of the Unknowns, in Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia – more commonly referred to as The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier – was first built in 1921 as a tribute to an unidentified dead soldier found in France<\/a> following World War One. However, since its refurbishment in the 1930s, it has come to represent all US<\/a> service personnel who have died whilst on duty. It stands as a symbol of the ultimate sacrifice that many American men and woman have made to protect the liberties we hold dear.<\/p>\n

Today, the tomb is an incredibly popular tourist attraction, with people coming from across the country, as well as the world, to pay their respects. As well as families and veterans<\/a>, the tomb also attracts casual tourists keen to get a glimpse of the monument.<\/p>\n

Although the vast majority of visitors behave impeccably, sometimes the crowds do not act in the respectful manner demanded by the monument. In the following video, we see a large crowd forming around the tomb. When a group of visitors started to giggle among themselves in front of the memorial, the guard\u00a0broke his 21-step walk to instill some respect in them.<\/p>\n
