It was almost a year ago to the day that she was in <em><strong>Nigeria<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0on a charity work mission when she stumbled across a tiny little toddler who would be later be known as &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/dailydigest.com\/nigerian-witch-child-recovery\/\"><em><strong>Hope<\/strong><\/em><\/a>&#8216;. He had spent eight months surviving by himself in the streets. Naked, terribly emaciated and dying.<\/p>\n<p>He had been cast out by his parents who believed him to be a witch. He was left to die. But Anja found him. She saved him and pictures of her giving the thirsty youngster a drink from a bottle of water went <a href=\"https:\/\/dailydigest.com\/tire-retreading\/\">viral<\/a>. Once they hit the net, more than $1m worth of donations came into the organization that Anja works for.<\/p>\n<p>She has just gone back and found Hope again. He is happy, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailydigest.com\/tips-to-get-lower-life-insurance\/\">healthy<\/a> and she caught him on his first day at school. They even recreated their famous photograph&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6145\" src=\"http:\/\/dailydigest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Witch-Boy-Hope-1.jpg\" alt=\"Witch Boy Hope\" width=\"1156\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Anja told of her story in a touching and heartfelt message posted onto Facebook:<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8216;On the 30th of January 2016 I went on a rescue mission with David Emmanuel Umem, Nsidibe Orok and our Nigerian team.&#8217;<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8216;A rescue mission that went viral, and today it&#8217;s exactly one year ago the world came to know a young little boy called Hope<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><em>&#8216;This week Hope will start school.&#8217;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-6147\" src=\"http:\/\/dailydigest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Witch-Boy-Hope-3.jpg\" alt=\"Witch Boy Hope\" width=\"880\" height=\"903\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Just twelve short months ago, Hope was plagued by <a href=\"https:\/\/dailydigest.com\/black-spots-in-stool\/\">worms<\/a> and on death&#8217;s door. Now?
